Update from Principal Thomas

Dear Denver South Students and Families,

We hope you all had a fantastic Spring Break and are ready for a strong finish to the school. This time of year is incredibly busy as we have many important upcoming events.  Please be sure to check our Friday communications each week to ensure you’re not missing anything.

Our CMAS and PSAT/SAT testing begins next week.  We know that many post-secondary schools are no longer requiring PSAT/SATs, and some students think they no longer need to take the test.  However, the state of Colorado still measures school performance based on the results and participation of these tests.  Our community knows that Denver South is a Distinguished school and we want to be sure our state rating represents the amazing work that is being done here every day. We ask for your support in communicating to students the importance of being present and on time for their testing date.  In order to receive full rating scores, we need 95% participation for each test! To thank students for their hard work, perseverance, and pride for our school community, we will celebrate those grade levels that meet the 95% mark with a school BBQ.  Please encourage your students to help us in meeting these goals.
