Football

Ravens Football has also had an amazing run this season with an 8-2 record overall.  We lost a tough final regular season game last Friday which changed our playoff picture a bit, but the good news is we earned the #17 seed in the 4A playoffs and will face off against #16 Mesa Ridge HS at C.A. Foster Stadium in CO Springs. We are familiar with Mesa as they were our first opponent of the season and this will undoubtedly be a GREAT game.  Come down to the Springs and support Ravens Football tomorrow night at 7pm!

Gymnastics

Last week our gymnastics team competed at Regionals and this year we have six gymnasts who have qualified for the 4A State Championships!

Please congratulate: Taeyonna Johnson, Sarah Kubik,  Jhonte’ Noble, Gabriella O’Clair, Dahlia Gietka, and Kalista Mick

Our gymnasts will compete in Prelims tomorrow and hopefully earn their way to compete in Finals on Saturday at Thornton HS!

Results from last week’s State Competitions

Boys Tennis

A historic season for Boys Tennis as they captured our first DPS League Title since 1955!  They continued their great play into the 4A Regional Tournament bringing home hardware as a 4A Regional Runner up.  Jack Hale was a Regional Champion at #3 Singles as well as Gavin Fortney and Hank Leonard at #3 Doubles.  Then on to the 4A State Championships in Pueblo where we once again showed we belong amongst the top teams in the State placing 8th overall!  Rafa Wieland finished 3rd overall at #1 Singles and Gavin/Hank were 4th at #3 doubles – watch out for this squad next year too!

Cross Country

We ran with a passion this season and peaked at the right time! After a season of ups and downs with 1st place finishes at a number of meets during the season yet a somewhat disappointing finish at the league championships – both our boys and girls squads crushed it at their 4A Regional and qualified for State!  We hadn’t qualified both teams for the State Championship races in many, many years and they took advantage of the opportunity as they both placed higher than their seed with the Boys finishing at 15th and the Girls 16th overall!! Well done XC!

Boys Soccer

Although the boys had a disappointing result in their 5A Playoff game, losing to Rampart 3-0…they had an AMAZING season finishing with a 12-4 record overall.  We had not qualified for the State Playoffs for a number of years and the fact that we hosted a 1st round game is a great accomplishment.  This year’s young, talented squad has their sights set on even more success on the pitch next year and beyond!

This has been an unprecedented Fall Season for Ravens Athletics and we’re not done yet! Please congratulate our student-athletes and coaches they are making us all PROUD to be Ravens!
