SORRY! WE NO LONGER HAVE SHADOW DATES AT THIS TIME

We are excited to offer 8th grade “shadow days” for our prospective 9th grade students! During shadow days, your student will be paired with a South Student Ambassador with similar interests. 

Shadows are scheduled Thursday afternoons from 12:30pm – 2:00pm

Below is an example schedule your student will follow while shadowing at South: 

• 12:40pm – Students begin in the Auditorium with a South intro video, Activities Staff introductions, and will be paired with their Ambassador for the day.
• 1:15 – 1:40pm – Building tour and classroom visits.
• 1:40 – 2:00pm – All students meet in the Cafeteria for small group Q&A and a panel discussion.
• 2:00pm – Program ends and students are picked-up in the Main Lot.

Please note that we cannot accommodate reserving seats for friends.

As a reminder, this shadow opportunity is for students only. Prospective families are strongly encouraged to attend one of our 8th Grade Showcase Nights.

Shadow Tour Stops

Thank you for your interest in Denver South High School! This year, we are pleased to offer two showcase nights for our prospective families. We encourage parents/guardians and students to attend one of these nights to find out more information about our school and what makes South such a great place to learn and be–we think you’re going to love it!

The night consists of a Welcome ceremony, followed by rotations (by alpha) between our Academics, Arts, Counseling and College Readiness partners, and Athletics and Activities breakouts. We conclude the night with a panel discussion from current students, parents, and staff.

• November 20th from 6-8pm

• January 28th from 6-8pm

6:00pm – Principal Welcome

Breakout Sessions by Alpha
6:15 – 6:30pm – First Rotation
6:35 – 6:50pm – Second Rotation
6:55 – 7:10pm – Third Rotation
7:15 – 7:30pm – Final Rotation

7:35 – 7:50pm – Q & A Panel
Parents will be in the Auditorium
Students will be in The Nest (Main Gym)

7:50 – 8:00pm – Tours (optional)
