2.3 Update from Principal Goss

Posted May 19, 2023

Dear Denver South Students and Families,

This week we had many events to celebrate! Our National Girls and Women in Sports Day event was a great success. We want to thank our wonderful panelists for their unique and inspirational stories, as well as our PTSA for their support to make this event possible.

We also want to spotlight out students!

Please congratulate Owen Wininger, Max Munthali, Shan Kerrigan, Lilly Pizzo, and Molly Roberts on their Scholastic Art Awards!  Owen received a Gold Key for his portfolio, which is a huge accomplishment- only about 20 portfolio awards are given for the entire region each year.  He also received a Silver Key for an individual piece.  Max received a Gold Key, and the rest received Honorable Mentions.

Owen’s portfolio and Max’s piece will be going on to the national level competition.

We are proud that the following senior student-athletes of the Class of 2023 will be taking their academic and athletic talents to the collegiate level next year! We celebrated the following student athletes on signing day earlier this week.

Joseph Capra – Colorado School of Mines

OJ Thomas – Fort Lewis College

Rashad Caldwell – Princeton University

Way to go Ravens!

Last but not least, families please let your students know that due to recent theft at Whole Foods, they will no longer be allowing south students in the store during lunch time. If a South student is in the parking or enters the store, they will be given a trespassing ticket per DPD. If you have any questions please contact the Culture Team.

We hope you enjoy the warm weather this weekend.

Go Ravens

We are Denver South

Sincerely,

Principal Goss
