Dear Denver South High School Community,
We are excited to announce that Rachel Goss has been selected as the next principal of Denver South High School for the 2022-2023 school year. We are confident Rachel will continue to build upon the many strengths of Denver South and that she will carry and expand Denver South’s strong foundation of success for all students.
Rachel Goss is proud to serve in Denver Public Schools and has for 12 years. As shared in her bio, Rachel began her teaching career at Henry Middle School teaching science, social studies, and AVID; she then transitioned into leadership as a Dean and member of the Instructional Leadership Team. During this time, Rachel created and led systems that substantially increased student achievement and engagement.
In 2018, Rachel joined Denver South High School as a Senior Team Lead. She has also served as Dean, and then in 2020, she became Assistant Principal, where she leads and facilitates equity initiatives throughout the school. Ms. Goss is a leader who believes in supporting students and staff. She is excited to strengthen partnerships with the community and all stakeholders. Furthermore, Ms. Goss is eager to continue working with students, staff, and the community to optimize student learning and experiences.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed input and feedback to the selection process. A huge thank you and our sincerest gratitude goes out to the Collaborative School Committee (CSC) for their hard work and for being an integral part of this process. The CSC served the school community very well and their unwavering commitment to the ongoing success of Denver South throughout the hiring process was apparent at every turn, we appreciate your engagement.
