Update from Principal Thomas

Dear Denver South Students and Families,

This was a week of memorable events for our Denver South students.  We had a successful prom and after prom on Saturday night, and the Denver South community celebrated our Class of 2022 graduates at Magness Arena on May 17. Thank you to the PTSA for helping honor our seniors. These amazing Ravens earned a combined total of $15,733,054 (and still growing!) in scholarships and will be entering careers and attending prestigious universities around the world.  Please join us in wishing our Denver South graduates much success on their post-secondary journeys.

As we shared earlier this week, we want to hear from you about our next Denver South principal. We highly value the voices of all our stakeholders. To honor this, we would like to invite staff, students, parents, and community members to view the candidates’ presentations and bios at https://bit.ly/DenverSouthPrincipal2022.  Please share your feedback on the strengths and considerations of each candidate based on their presentations and the needs of Denver South. Feedback can be submitted in the survey or by calling the Office of Family & Community Engagement at 720-423-3054. You may also email your feedback responses to brittany_barela@dpsk12.org. Please complete all feedback by Tuesday, May 24th at 10 a.m. There will be also be a community forum on May 23 at 4:45pm.  Click here for more details.

Next week, final exams will begin.  If students have completed all of their final exams and are passing all of their classes, they do not need to attend make-up finals on May 27, June 1, or June 2.  If students have make up exams or are currently failing a class, they must attend school on May 27, June 1, and June 2 (or until their work is complete).

  • May 24-26: Final Exams
  • May 30: No school-Memorial Day
  • May 26-June 2: Make up finals and tutoring for any failing students

Have a great weekend (and stay warm!),

Go Ravens

We are Denver South

Sincerely,

Principal Thomas
