Posted September 28, 2022

Congratulations to Stephanie Brazinsky, counselor at Denver South High School, for receiving the 2022 Award for Government Relations at the National Association of College Admissions Counselors conference last weekend for her devotion to excellency in her role!

Her outstanding work in ensuring equity is considered within policies & practices of post-secondary planning not only helps to better serve her students at South, but promotes access for students in the Rocky Mountain region and across the country.

Stephanie and Vicky Virnich, Principal of Compassion Road Academy, also had the opportunity to present their topic “Resiliency through collaboration: How school counselors, administrators and teachers can collaborate to deliver an effective developmental school counseling curriculum at the high school level” to a large audience of public and private high school counselors, college admissions counselors and administrators who were eager to hear how the second largest high school in Denver is able to provide more equitable access to post-secondary planning for students.

HERE is a link to a video where she received this award.

HERE is a link to the placard which was at the Convention Center outlining Stephanie’s contributions as the Government Relations Chair for the Rocky Mountain Association of College Admissions Counselors.

To paraphrase some of the highlights of why Stepahnie was honored: she works tirelessly to promote access for her students at South — and all students in the Rocky Mountain region and across the country — to ensure equity is considered with policies and practices of post-secondary planning.

Congratulations Stephanie!
