Dear South Families,
As we enter into the last 9 weeks of school, we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone how important it is to have open communication with your kids. The spring can be challenging and stressful as standardized testing and graduation approaches. The best way to be there for your child is to listen and connect them with any resources they may need. As a reminder, here are community resources available to South students and families should you need to access additional support.
South is supporting the whole-child by hosting a Social/Emotional Wellness Night open to all students and families on Monday April 15th from 5:00 – 7:00pm. The focus of the event is providing information on overall health and wellness. There will be breakout sessions led by mental health providers on topics including stress/anxiety, social media, suicide prevention, substance use, healthy relationships and trauma informed care. Additionally, several outside agencies from our community will be setting up booths for a resource fair. Light snacks, childcare (by South High Student Senate) and translation services provided.
