This week’s Rebel Athlete is Jack Holm a Senior on the Wrestling Team! Jack is the longest tenured wrestler in the history of South. He is the first athlete to go through our youth program and continue wrestling for all four years of high school. Jack has set the example for work ethic by going to camps and clinics throughout the summer and winter breaks. Additionally, this year he has stepped up into a leadership role, helping lead warm-ups, and mentoring some of our new wrestlers. Amidst all his wrestling, Jack still finds time to have a part time job, and be a competitive skier.
Not only is Jack a model wrestler for his work ethic, he is also a model teammate. When he is not wrestling, he is the first one mat side, coaching up and cheering on his teammates. On the busses to matches, he is sharing motivational podcasts, and on the way home he shares some of his personal raps. Most importantly, Jack shares his love of the sport and South High School with everyone he meets. During these long, tough, wrestling seasons, Jack manages to keep a smile on everyone’s faces.
Congratulations Jack, and thank you for all your positive contributions to the team the past 4 years. You have been a valuable member of our team and we look forward to hearing about all the great things you do at UNC next year!
